If you are thinking about joining Stafford Singers here are some things you might like to know.

New members are always welcome.

We invite you to come and sit in on any of our rehearsals to discover whether you enjoy being with us. If we are expecting you (see Contact Page ), we may be able to lend you some music, if available, for the evening, but we do not require any initial commitment except a way of contacting you should you express a wish to return. (This would simply be to let you know of any unexpected cancellation of a rehearsal.) An ability to read music, however, is not essential.

If you agree to join us after 3-4 weeks attendance, an annual membership fee of £50/person or £70/couple will be payable, either at the start of our season in September or in two installments in September/January.

On payment of the subscription you will be provided with a folder of music for which you will be responsible. This will contain our repertoire for the season and should be returned in June for updating or whenever you part company with us. Individual pieces may be recalled at any time eg to redeem a library loan. We do not use photocopied music except in a very few permitted cases.

If you join us on stage for a concert which we hope you will when you feel ready, our dress code is:
Gentlemen: Black trousers, shirt, shoes and socks and a green tie (available to buy only from the choir).
Ladies: Trousers, plain, round neck top, shoes and hosiery, all black, and a green jacket (also available from the choir). Small, neat pieces of jewellery can be worn.
A black folder is required to hold the programme of music for any concert. This can be made available for a deposit of £5. Please note that ring binders are unsuitable for this purpose.

Data Protection: You will be required to sign a form giving us permission to use, for the sole purpose of choir activities, the contact details you will provide us with. We also ask for your written agreement to use your name and any photographs or videos that include you taken during choir activities, on our web site or Facebook page.
